To ensure patients receive the most accessible care, we offer the following services:
American Sign Language interpreters available upon request. For patients visiting the hospital unexpectedly, ASL interpreters can be requested upon arrival. We will work to have an interpreter on-site as soon as possible; however , the wait for an ASL interpreter may be up to two hours. For patients who know they will be in hospital, the Canadian Hearing Society of Durham can help pre-arrange an ASL interpreter. They can be reached at 1-855-656-3748 or TTY: 1-877-843-0368.
