FASD Diagnostic Clinic

Our FASD Diagnostic Clinic offers FASD assessment services for children from birth to 18 years of age. The clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, a clinic coordinator, and support staff.

We can also help connect you to the FASD worker in your community. The FASD worker program is available to any family with a child or youth with FASD, or suspected of having FASD.

What is FASD?

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) are a range of physical and brain conditions which can occur if someone was exposed to alcohol before birth. The brain and body can be affected in various ways. By assessing if someone has FASD, proper supports can be put in place to help the child or youth continue to thrive and lead a healthy life.

Eligibility Criteria for assessment:

Clear confirmation of prenatal alcohol exposure
Child or youth resides in Scarborough, Durham Region, Haliburton County and City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County, or Peterborough
