Construction on the new parking garage to support the long-term care home beside the Ajax Pickering Hospital continues at a rapid pace and is on schedule. As a result of a need to mobilize cranes on the parking garage site, we are experiencing some temporary capacity issues at the hospital’s parking lots.
We apologize for any inconvenience this disruption may be causing.
Providing safe, equitable, and accessible parking for all patients, visitors, and essential partners-in-care is our top priority. Given the reduced parking spaces, we are reminding all patients to please plan and give yourself ample time ahead of your appointment to locate a parking spot.
We anticipate this reduced capacity of parking spaces to remain in effect until the Spring. We have instituted a measure for off-site staff parking to ensure our patients, visitors, and essential partners-in-care have the parking access they require. We do ask for your patience and understanding as these measures are implemented.
When the parking garage is complete by June 2022, we anticipate the creation of approximately 530 parking spaces and over 200 net new spaces for hospital patients, visitors, essential partners-in-care, and staff.
