Video update from Lakeridge Health shows construction in progress

Durham Region – Late last week, Lakeridge Health announced restoration and reopening timelines for Port Perry Hospital. Based on the plan, construction and restoration of the building is scheduled to be complete the first week of July with the first patients receiving care the week of September 3-8, with a target of just after Labour Day.

As part of the ongoing commitment to keep North Durham residents informed, a video released today outlines the detailed work taking place as restoration efforts continue on site.

“We want the ensure the North Durham community has access to regular updates on our progress as we work tirelessly to restore and reopen Port Perry Hospital as soon as possible,” said Matthew Anderson, Lakeridge Health President and CEO. “Before the hospital officially reopens in September, it will take between six and eight weeks to clean and sterilize the building and test all of the new medical equipment before we begin to transition staff and physicians to the hospital.”
