Integration Telephone Town Halls Set for November 7 and 9

Posted on Wednesday November 02, 2016

November 2, 2016 — Lakeridge Health (LH), Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS), and The Scarborough Hospital (TSH) invite you to join interactive telephone town halls on November 7 in Durham and November 9 in Scarborough. The telephone town halls are part of the consultation process regarding the integrations of the Birchmount and General campuses of TSH with the Centenary site of RVHS and the Ajax and Pickering site of RVHS with LH.

If you are interested in participating, you can register for the telephone town halls by leaving your phone number on the Our Hospitals website. If you pre-register, you will receive a phone call that will connect you to the telephone town hall conversation for which you have registered. If you are unable to register, automated calls will be made to residents who can then choose to stay on the line and participate in the call. This phone technology can accommodate tens of thousands of participants.

“Our hospitals are working closely together with a focus on improving health care and putting patients first,” said Andrée Robichaud, President and CEO, RVHS. “Telephone town halls give us the opportunity to hear from as many people as possible.”

“Throughout this process, we have remained committed to being open and transparent by engaging our community,” says Robert Biron, President and CEO, TSH.

“We encourage everyone to participate – because we value your views and input during this important opportunity in the history of our health care system,” said Tom McHugh, Interim President and CEO, LH.

Telephone Town Halls: November 7 and November 9, 2016.

Participants may choose one of two telephone town halls, which are scheduled as follows:

Dates: November 7 at 7:35 p.m. for Durham residents, November 9 at 7:35 p.m. for Scarborough residents

Please note that topics to be discussed are the same for both of the telephone town halls.

Questions will be asked of participants by the call hosts in order to document their views. Callers can respond to these questions by pressing a number on their dial pad. In addition, callers will also have the opportunity to ask questions of hospital leaders and make comments.

As well, community members can visit Our Hospitals website to ask questions and provide their input.
