It is great news that the Bowmanville Hospital redevelopment project is included in the latest Ontario P3 Market Update (Fall 2019). Infrastructure Ontario annually releases a P3 Market Update that provides estimated timelines for large public projects.
With Clarington’s population forecast to grow by more than 40 per cent by 2031, the Bowmanville Hospital expansion is essential to meet the future health care needs of the community.
Lakeridge Health is working with our Ontario Government partners to advance the capital approval process for the Bowmanville Hospital.
Redeveloping a hospital is a complex and rigorous process that takes place over a number of years. Currently, the Ministry of Health (MOH) is reviewing Lakeridge Health’s Stage 1 submission, which demonstrates the scale and the types of services to be provided at the future hospital.
We are excited about continuing to work with our provincial and municipal partners and the community to move the Bowmanville Hospital redevelopment forward.
