Lakeridge Health Board of Trustees appoints Interim President and CEO

I am pleased to share with you that the Board of Trustees has appointed Susan deRyk, EVP and Chief Transformation Officer as Interim President and CEO. This appointment is effective February 1, 2020 as Matthew Anderson, President and CEO transitions to Ontario Health.

Susan joined Lakeridge Health in 2017 and since that time has guided the Transformation Portfolio team with accountability for Capital Planning and Development, Information Technology, Corporate Strategy Development and Corporate Communications.

Over that period, her team has been responsible for the launch of a new Strategic Plan and driving success on a number of organizational strategic transformation priorities including implementation of the new Clinical Information System, Master Planning including the Bowmanville Hospital expansion, New Hospital projects and development of the Durham Ontario Health Team. She is also the site executive lead at the Ajax Pickering Hospital.

Susan is a dedicated and accomplished leader, and with her knowledge, skills and experience, she is well positioned for this role.

With a strong and experienced Chief of Staff and Senior Management Team, along with the ongoing support of the entire Lakeridge Health community, the Board is confident that together we will continue to successfully deliver on our ambitious strategic agenda to build an integrated system of care for Durham Region.

Over the coming weeks, Susan and Matt will develop a CEO transition plan, including identifying an interim EVP & Chief Transformation Officer and work with SMT and other leaders to ensure a smooth transition.

As shared last week, the Board of Trustees is developing a plan to recruit a permanent CEO. This plan is expected to be finalized in March and we will share further information as it becomes available.
