Oshawa Hospital – South Parking Garage on Parkwood Court Update
Lakeridge Health has begun concrete and infrastructure repairs and rehabilitation of the South Parking Garage at the Oshawa Hospital. This work is expected to take place until January 31, 2023.
All entrance and exit ways to and from the garage including stairs, will remain open at all times during construction. Please be aware that during this construction work, we will need to close a few areas. This will occur in phases and we will notify you via signage in place.
During construction, occasional brief unloading of equipment and materials will take place on Golf Street and on Parkwood Court. All appropriate measures will be taken to ensure safety of all residents during these times.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make the much-needed upgrades and repairs to the parking garage.
Updated Parking Information for Ajax Pickering Hospital and Lakeridge Gardens
New Parking Garage Partially Opened as of Monday, September 19, 2022
We are pleased to announce that the parking garage, currently under construction beside Ajax Pickering Hospital, has partially opened as of Monday, September 19, 2022, enabling increased access to parking at the hospital and Lakeridge Gardens.
Due to supply chain issues, use of the parking garage continues limited to the third level or P3 only (390 parking spaces). There are four accessible parking spaces on the first level or P1, two each on the North and South sides. The North elevator is available, and it is anticipated that the South elevator (closest to Lakeridge Gardens) will be available within a week (end of October).
It is also expected that the balance of the garage will be open within three to four weeks. Upon completion, the new, five-level parking garage will have a total of 532 parking spaces materially expanding the parking capacity at the hospital.
Note that the maximum vehicle height is 2.75 metres or nine feet. Vehicles over the maximum height must park in the outside surface lots.
Accessing the New Parking Garage
Vehicular traffic can enter and exit through parking gates located on the North and South sides of the parking garage. Access to both entry and exit points for the garage is off the main internal hospital driveway. Staff and visitors are to use the most northerly entrance (closest to the East entrance of the hospital). The South entrance is closest to Lakeridge Gardens and staff and visitors to Lakeridge Gardens are encouraged to use that location.

Lakeridge Gardens Visitor Parking
There are 21 parking spaces designated on the second level or P2 for Lakeridge Gardens visitors and residents. These parking spaces will be identified by signage.
West Parking Lot (Opposite Ajax Pickering Hospital Emergency Department) Open for Visitors Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
To ensure the best patient experience possible, a portion of the West parking lot (accessible via Kitney Drive or the hospital driveway from Harwood Avenue), will be accessible to patient/visitor parking only, Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
East Parking Lot (across from the parking garage and surrounding the Mental Health Outpatient Building)
Currently, access to this lot is restricted to staff access only. Effective Monday, September 19, 2022, access to this parking lot will revert back to patient, visitor, and staff parking.
Electric Vehicle Charging
In the coming weeks, we will be installing four charging spaces for electric vehicle charging. Please stay tuned for further details.
Safety and Security
For the safety of staff, patients, and visitors, security cameras are placed throughout the garage. In addition, there are buttons to quickly access security at each level and crisis phones at the roof level.
Parking Office
The parking office will be relocated from the hospital to the new parking garage near the North entrance on P1. The parking office will be open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on weekends/holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
