Lakeridge Health Welcomes First 2019 Babies Born in Durham Region

Durham Region – Lakeridge Health welcomed the first babies of 2019 at Ajax Pickering, Oshawa and Port Perry Hospitals.

Baby Girl Venkatesh arrived at 12:08 a.m. at Lakeridge Health’s Ajax Pickering Hospital weighing 8 pounds. Congratulations to proud parents, Rathna and Mahendran.

At Oshawa Hospital, beaming parents Nguyet Tran and Vu Le welcomed Baby Sophia at 3:00 a.m., weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces.

Finally, at Port Perry Hospital, parents Kathleen and James Cochrane welcomed their new bundle of joy, Charlotte, at 7:59 a.m. She weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces.

With birthing suites at Ajax Pickering, Port Perry and Oshawa Hospitals, Lakeridge Health is the eighth largest birthing centres in the province, delivering close to 4,500 babies each year.
