Volunteer
Why volunteer?
Studies have shown that volunteerism improves health by strengthening the body, improving mood and lessening stress. Additionally, volunteering can increase self-esteem, enhance various skills and expand career paths.

Volunteers are an essential part of the Lakeridge Health team and help to create a caring and supportive environment in our hospitals, our long-term care home in Ajax, Lakeridge Gardens, and in our numerous community facilities, including the Jerry Coughlan Health & Wellness Centre. We believe volunteers at Lakeridge Health embody the values of this organization every time they come into our facilities – Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy!
At Lakeridge Health, we are dedicated to creating an environment that mirrors the diversity of Durham Region. We invite everyone in the community to join us in building a more diverse and inclusive group of volunteers to help shape a vibrant and inclusive community and support health-care in Durham Region.
