The Central East Regional Cancer Program is a network of cancer services and hospitals providing care to the 1.6 million people who live in Northumberland, Kawartha Lakes, Durham and Scarborough.

We are one of 14 regional cancer programs in the Province that report to Cancer Care Ontario, a government agency that ensures someone with cancer receives the same high quality care no matter where they live in Ontario.

We have one regional cancer centre, the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Health in Oshawa, as well as eight partner hospitals.Together, we work with community organizations to provide cancer care in our community.

The Central East Regional Cancer Program also collaborates with other cancer programs in Ontario, linking specialized services and regional and provincial programs.

The Central East Regional Cancer Plan (2016-2019)

This multi-year strategic plan was created specifically to align with the goals and strategic objectives of Cancer Care Ontario's current cancer plan. Our objectives were developed through multiple consultations with regional leaders, care providers, patients and their family members. The evolution of this plan was overseen by a group of regional leaders and supported by the active participation of patient and family advisors. Intended as a guide, this plan will continue to evolve with feedback from our partners and patients.
