Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ajax-Pickering and Oshawa)

Durham region is one of the fastest growing communities in Canada with a population growing faster than the Ontario average (young growing families = lots of babies born!). Located at the East end of the Greater Toronto Area along the GO transit line, Durham is one of the bedroom communities for the City of Toronto.

Lakeridge Health is one of the largest hospital corporations in Ontario comprising 5 sites. Three of those sites provide Obstetrical care with a combined delivery rate of approximately 4,500 deliveries/year. We have two NICUs with the capability of taking care of neonates 30 weeks and above. Our patients are served exceptionally well with our R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre, a regional centre of excellence which includes a full Gyn Onc program, and we recently launched our Robotic Surgery service with our new Da Vinci Robot. We are an affiliated teaching centre of Queen’s University, and are launching the Queen’s-Lakeridge MD Family Medicine Program this fall, a first-in-Canada teaching program that trains family doctors. As our program grows, we would love for you to join our team!

We are looking to expand beyond our current 20 Ob/Gyn's spread across two sites (Ajax-Pickering and Oshawa), in addition to our team of Midwives, Family Medicine Obstetrical Providers and Gyn Onc's. We are looking to bring on Ob/Gyn's at both our Ajax-Pickering and Oshawa sites.

As a clear commitment to our Obstetrical program, Lakeridge Health owns the web address: WeLoveBabies.ca
