Deputy Chief of Medicine
Lakeridge Health is seeking a Deputy Chief of Medicine to lead the Department and comprehensive Program with a focus on the professional practice and quality of care provided by privileged staff within the Department, across all LH hospital sites and locations. The Deputy Department Chief assists in advancing annual goals and objectives and supports professional practice development, performance improvement and quality of care, driving the quality of care and supporting and enabling the safe and effective delivery of high quality clinical services in a manner that is consistent with the Strategic Vision. Further, the Deputy Chief will leverage the Quadruple Aim framework for health system redesign to further develop this expansive Program and will be engaging and leading the privileged staff in the Department in the development and implementation of the goals, strategic directions, and academic advancement of the Program.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain clinical practice, in their chose speciality. A trusted clinician and physician leader, the Deputy Chief must be an outstanding collaborator and communicator, promoting the mission and vision of the Department of Medicine and of the organization.

The successful candidates will be supported and expected to pursue faculty appointments with our academic partners and will facilitate the academic advancement of the Department members, including the support of research and education initiatives. Prior success in leadership, education and/or research programs is highly desirable.
The successful applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and will be an experienced Physician who holds Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) certification in General Internal Medicine or other Medical Sub-Speciality. The anticipated start dates are January 2024 .
