Mental Health Program and Pinewood Centre

(Last updated: April 19, 2021)

  • New clients are being admitted into all outpatient services.
  • Our Outpatient Mental Health, Pinewood Centre and Child Youth and Family Program services are being provided virtually through the telephone and Microsoft Teams.
  • 905-721-4747 is the centralized access line for Community Mental Health and Pinewood Centre services.
  • The Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) is open, by appointment, at our Pinewood Centre 300 Centre Street location. Please call 905-721-4747 ext 37226 to leave a message and calls will be returned the same day.
  • The Residential Withdrawal Management Service (RWMS) at Pinewood Centre 300 is open for admissions. Call 905-721-4747 ext. 31216. Please note, infection prevention and control measures are in place.

  • All incoming referrals are being triaged - only priority patients are being given appointments

If you have previously been given an in person appointment, we may call and reschedule to a telephone or virtual visit. This will only be done if it is the right option for your care. 

Durham Regional Cancer Centre (DRCC)

The Durham Regional Cancer Centre is open and continuing to provide cancer care and treatments. 

What to expect for your appointments
  • Some of your appointments may be rescheduled.
  • Some of your appointments may be scheduled as a telephone or video appointment. 
  • You may wait longer during appointments.
  • You may see different members of the healthcare team.
  • You will continue to receive excellent care from your healthcare team.
Keeping yourself and others safe when you come for an appointment 
    1. You will be asked COVID-19 screening questions at the hospital entrance. It is important you answer these screening questions truthfully. This allows your healthcare team to safely plan for the next steps in your care and treatment. 
    2. Clean your hands with hand sanitizer often. 
    3. Wear a mask at all times.
    4. Do not eat or drink while you are in the hospital/cancer centre.  Talk to a member of your healthcare team if you have questions about this. 
    5. Keep a 2 metre distance between you and others.

  • When you come to the cancer for an appointment, you need to check in at one of the cancer centre computers.
  • If you are feeling unwell, please call a member of your healthcare team before you come for your appointment. Call 1-866-338-1778 / 905-576-8711 and use the extension number you were given by your nurse or  physician's clerk. You can also call the main receptionist at extension 33282. 
  • Lakeridge Health, and the Durham Regional Cancer Centre continue to restrict visitors in the hospital. This includes your family members/partners-in-care. Visitor restrictions are in place to keep you and your healthcare team safe. Restrictions have changed in some areas of the hospital. They need to remain in place in the cancer centre because we do not have the space for safe physical distancing. Our patients may be eligible to bring 1 family member/partner-in-care with them to specific appointments. Your healthcare team will tell you if you are eligible to bring a family member/partner-in-care to an appointment.  Talk to a member of your healthcare team if you have questions or concerns about this. We encourage you to invite your family member/partner-in-care to participate in any telephone or video appointment scheduled for you.
