What is Spasticity?

Spasticity is associated with involuntary muscle spasms, sustained muscle contractions and exaggerated deep tendon reflexes that make movement difficult or uncontrollable. Spasticity may be caused as a result of:

  • Stroke
  • Brain Injury
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Multiple Sclerosis

We will design a treatment plan based around your needs. In general, we will work to achieve the following:

  • Enhance the benefit of physiotherapy
  • Prevent skin breakdown and pressure ulcers
  • Increase independence in self-care activities

  • Improve quality of life
