(Port Perry, ON) – September 26, 2022 – The Port Perry Hospital Foundation and Lakeridge Health are pleased to share that the CT Scanner planned for Lakeridge Health’s Port Perry Hospital is expected to arrive and be installed in Spring 2023.
With the Foundation’s Here for You fundraising campaign surpassing its goal of $4 million, raising $4.15 million and doing so earlier than anticipated, the planning and implementation of the CT Scanner has been moving forward.
“This is a really exciting announcement for our community,” says Rachel Agnoluzzi, CEO, Port Perry Hospital Foundation. “Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, such as COVID-19 restrictions and supply chain issues, we have experienced a delay in this process. However, we remain unwavering in our commitment to move this forward.”
CT scans are used to diagnose an injury and/or determine medical treatment, very often in emergency situations. Currently, all Port Perry Hospital patients who need a CT scan are transferred to another hospital for their scan before treatment can begin. A CT scanner at Port Perry Hospital will shorten the time from diagnosis to treatment for patients and at times, it will be the key to saving a life.

The Foundation and Lakeridge Health recognize that waiting for this much needed equipment can be difficult. We are doing our utmost to advance this as quickly as possible, and we appreciate the patience and understanding from our community.”
The Here for You campaign raised the funds required to purchase a state-of-the-art CT scanner and renovate the facilities for the CT suite, and it also ensures that new and replacement medical equipment can be prioritized. The campaign publicly launched in March 2021 having already secured $2.45 million through the generosity of early supporters and reserve funds and exceeded its goal in January 2022.
