Durham residents invited to have live conversation with Lakeridge Health leaders at telephone town hall

Posted on Monday November 18, 2019

Durham Region – Durham residents are invited to attend a Live Telephone Town Hall on Monday, November 25 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. to learn more from Lakeridge Health leaders about health care in the region, new programs, and plans to expand services in the future.

Lakeridge Health President & CEO Matthew Anderson and Chief of Staff Dr. Tony Stone will update community members on key topics including efforts to alleviate hospital overcrowding and increase access to home and community care, new mental health services, and the modernization and expansion of Lakeridge Health’s facilities. During the interactive session, participants will be asked for their input on important health care questions through instant polling. The event will be hosted by Jerry Archer of KX96 Radio.

A randomly-selected list of 10,000 households will receive telephone calls inviting them to participate in the call. Interested residents can secure their place in advance by calling 905-721-7792, emailing communications@lh.ca or logging onto our website for the link to register. To stream the event live, please visit the Vekeo website on Monday, November 25, starting at 7 p.m.

The Telephone Town Hall consultation builds on the 20,000 points of input from patients, community members, partners and Lakeridge Health’s team that shaped the organization’s new Strategic Plan. Community, patient and family feedback and experiences inform everything that Lakeridge Health does from designing new programs to service delivery.

“This is an important time for health care in Durham as we work with community members and partners to build a leading regional health system that serves people well today and for generations to come,” said Matthew Anderson, President & CEO, Lakeridge Health. “The key is knowing what is most important to our diverse community and talking with people about the positive changes and future directions at Lakeridge Health.”
