Durham Region – Lakeridge Health’s Ajax Pickering Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2018. Durham Region’s first baby of the year is little Muhammad Ishaq Khan.
He arrived at 8:22 a.m. at Lakeridge Health’s Ajax Pickering Hospital weighing six pounds, three ounces. Congratulations to proud parents Ayasha Zafar and Muhammad Nawaz Khan on the arrival of baby Muhammad, who is the couple’s second child.
The Khan family was surprised with a New Year's baby basket from the hospital which included a plush bear and blanket from the Auxiliary’s gift shop.
Lakeridge Health is a five-hospital system, with birthing suites available in Ajax Pickering, Oshawa and Port Perry. Lakeridge Health is the eighth largest birthing centre in the province, delivering close to 4,500 babies each year.
