Endowments

jim brewster legacy endowment

An endowment is a financial asset in the form of a donation that you can make to Lakeridge Health Foundation. There are four types of endowments to consider based on your personal philanthropic needs: term, unrestricted, quasi, and restricted.

  • Term endowment: A donation that is only used after a period of time or a certain event specified by the donor has taken place
  • Unrestricted endowment: An asset that can be spent, saved, invested, and distributed at the discretion of Lakeridge Health Foundation
  • Quasi-endowment: A donation by an individual with the intent of having the fund serve a specific purpose
  • Restricted Endowment: The principal is typically held in perpetuity, while the earnings from the invested assets are used per the donor's specifications
