Uterine Artery Embolization

What do I need to do first?

  • In order to understand the risks of the procedure, you should meet with an interventional radiologist.
  • You will need an ultrasound to document the size and position of your fibroids and to confirm that they are causing significant symptoms.
  • Since you will be admitted to hospital under the care of a gynecologist, you will need to see one at the institution where the procedure will be done.
