Uterine Artery Embolization - What does the doctor see?

In up to 4% of patients, the fibroid(s) are partly supplied by the ovarian arteries (red arrows)

This may lead to premature menopause (if ovarian arteries get blocked) or to failure of the procedure (continued blood supply to fibroid)
