Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

How is it diagnosed?

  • Clinical history and physical examination can detect this syndrome in 94% of patients (provided the doctor is aware of the syndrome)

  • Venography is used for confirmation

    • done at the time of embolization to prove varices and outline anatomy before treatment
